Come and visit the Village of Ashley’s Country Christmas celebration.  Starting the weekend before Thanksgiving the village will be transformed into an old fashioned Country Christmas.  Stroll the streets and enjoy the beautiful 1940's inspired decorations.  See the big Christmas tree, take a horse drawn wagon ride, watch a juggler, listen to carolers, see a chain saw carver or visit the hobo camp.
When you’re hungry stop into the North Pole Express Cafe or Beradise Ice Cream Shop for a light meal.  Gus’ Eatery and Saloon will have a full Christmas dinner in their roast turkey buffet.  For a sweet treat try  Bearadise Ice Cream Shop, the Czech Bakery, roasted nuts or kettle korn.  Just for fun try the Hobo Kitchen for soup and bread and meet all the hobo characters.
In our shops you’ll find handmade gifts, home décor, presents to stuff stockings, children’s gifts, souvenirs, train memorabilia, or vintage ornaments.
Children can see Santa’s reindeer, make a wooden toy at Santa’s Workshop, decorate a cookie to take home, work on craft projects and make ornaments .  On select weekends you can even attend a princess tea party and meet the Snow Queen or have cookies and milk with Santa and the elves.  And if you’ll be in town at the right time you’ll get to greet the North Pole express as it comes into town.  This huge steam engine was the inspiration for the sounds of the Polar Express.
To make your trip a Christmas memory bring your own bell to add to our Believe Tree in the town square.
And the highlight of your visit will be seeing Santa and maybe winning the First Gift of Christmas.

If you're interested in being a vendor at the Village of Ashley Country Christmas please be aware that we only have outside space left.  If you're still interested please contact Stephanie Densmore at 989-430-6049.
Where does the time go?  It seems like Christmas was just a little while ago but as we all know it's coming again quite soon.  The committee has been working very hard and now it's time for everyone to think about how they want to help.  We're looking for lots of volunteers.  If you would like to help in any way during the Country Christmas please contact Erica Densmore at Edenman2374@yahoo.com or give her a call at 989-289-0110.
We have some volunteer opportunities already.  We're starting with our Thursday craft and construction days.  Every Thurs there's a work bee for both men and women.  Anyone and everyone welcome.  We'll be starting at 9:00 and have a pot luck meal at noon.  Meet at the Community Center for instruction.
And we'll be having a couple of Sat work days for those who would like to help but can't make it on Thurs.  The Saturday dates are Sept. 27th, Oct 25th and Nov. 1st, 7th and 15th.  During November we'll be decorating the town, the tree, doors and windows.  Hope to see a lot of you there.
If you just want more information come to one of our public meetings.  Oct 6th and Nov 3 we'll be meeting at the Community Center at 6:30.
